Inside Look—Training Center



The Project SEARCH training center is where interns acquire necessary skills to function as a team, develop self-advocacy skills, and positive work ethics. After the initial three weeks of intense classroom training, morning and afternoon instruction is provided daily to reinforce learned concepts.  Some of the topics presented include:

  • Workplace Safety and time management skills
  • Professionalism in the workplace
  • Appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills
  • Healthy living habits and their impact on personal life and employment
  • Financial management skills and personal fiscal responsibility
  • Preparation for employment including the development of a personal resume and interview etiquette
  • Development of transferable job skills to assist in gaining competitive, entry-level employment
